Terms of service
The agreement between you and us. Short, in plain words, and describing what the service actually does today rather than what it might do.
Last updated 18 August 2026Who this is between
These terms are between you — the person or company using xplatform — and company name to be confirmed. Creating an account means accepting them.
What we provide
xplatform is a set of HTTP APIs — authentication and file storage today, with more named on the site as planned rather than promised. You create projects, take API keys, and call those APIs from your own application.
This is early software. We would rather say so here than imply otherwise: services are being actively developed, interfaces can change, and we do not yet offer a service level agreement or an uptime guarantee. If you are putting something critical on it, talk to us first.
Your account and your keys
- Give an accurate email address — it is how we reach you about your account, and how you recover it.
- Your secret keys authorise everything your projects can do. Keep them server-side, out of version control, and out of a browser. A publishable key is the one that is safe in a browser.
- You are responsible for what happens under your keys. If one leaks, revoke it in your studio and issue another; we can do neither for you, because we hold only hashes.
- One person per login. Share access by inviting people to a project, not by sharing a password.
What you may not do
Nothing surprising, and the list is short because we would rather it be read than skimmed.
- Break the law with it, or help someone else to.
- Store or distribute material that is illegal where we or you operate — child sexual abuse material above all, which we report and act on immediately.
- Send bulk unsolicited mail, run phishing, or host malware.
- Try to reach another customer's data, probe for weaknesses without asking us first, or work around the rate limits and quotas.
- Resell raw access to the platform as though it were your own infrastructure. Building a product on top of it is exactly what it is for; reselling the API itself is not.
Found a security problem? Tell us at hello@xplatform.dev before telling anyone else, and we will not come after you for having looked.
Your data stays yours
You keep every right you have in what you store here. We do not claim ownership of it, we do not use it to train models, and we do not use it for anything except running the service you asked for. We handle it as described in the privacy policy.
You can export or delete it at any time through the API or the studio. If you are storing your own users’ personal data with us, you are their controller and we are your processor — that is the arrangement, and the privacy policy sets out what it means in practice.
What it costs
Rates are published on the pricing page and are charged on measured usage — bytes stored, requests served, users held — with the measurement shown next to every figure in the studio so a bill can be checked rather than trusted.
Usage is currently measured and displayed as an estimate, and no payment is collected yet. Before we charge anyone for anything, we will say so in advance and you will have the chance to stop first. If we change a rate, it applies from the following month, never retroactively.
Ending it
- You can close your account or delete a project whenever you like, without asking us and without a notice period.
- A deleted project is recoverable for 30 days, after which it and its data are destroyed and cannot be brought back.
- We may suspend an account that is breaking the section above, or that is damaging the service for others. Except where the law or an immediate risk says otherwise, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right.
- If we ever shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and time to get your data out.
The parts a lawyer would insist on
The service is provided as it is. We work hard on it, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data beyond what we can restore. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
These terms are governed by the law of jurisdiction to be confirmed, and its courts hear anything we cannot settle between us.
If we change these terms we will move the date at the top, and tell account holders by email when the change is significant. Continuing to use the service after that is how you accept it; if you would rather not, close your account.
